OUTLINES MADE VISUAL
BarPowered was created with the vision that bar prep should incorporate visual learning more than it currently does. Instead of walls of text, we use charts, diagrams, timelines, and other visual tools to communicate complex legal concepts. That being said, we intentionally avoid the term “visual learner.” While people may have strong learning preferences, research suggests that most of us learn through a combination of methods.
With our approach, you spend less time deciphering dense texts and more time actually understanding the rules.
DEPTH WITHOUT OVERLOAD
We aim to strike a balance between conciseness and completeness. Many bar prep resources force students to choose between oversimplified summaries and hundreds of pages of outlines. It is our ambition to deliver the required depth efficiently.
VISION FOR ACCESS
We genuinely believe that bar prep should be more accessible. In an age where information is more accessible than ever, it’s fair to ask why bar prep resources still seem so out of reach for many students. If all the information itself is freely available, what exactly are you paying so much for? Is it the organization of the material? The format? The accountability? We understand these questions because we’ve asked them ourselves.
Affordability is only one part of this vision. Our goal is to make effective bar prep easier to access and that includes making useful visual resources available to more students.
THE BIG PICTURE
Our products and services are designed to supplement bar prep for everyone, from first-time takers to multi-repeaters and foreign-trained lawyers, regardless of whether they use a traditional "big box" prep course or pursue another approach. We include guidance and inspiration to help you structure your studying and stay on track throughout this process. Attorneys are expected to manage heavy workloads, stay organized, and learn independently. We believe bar prep can be an opportunity to practice and develop these habits.
In the big picture, our approach goes beyond the bar exam and even the practice of law. We might not be for everybody. We are for those with the ambition to take ownership of their learning and growth.
